PROGRAM
The Aquatic Weed School 2018 is an intensive two-day course focusing on issues associated with developing weed management strategies in a variety of aquatic ecosystems. The course provides a rare opportunity for professionals to efficiently update their understanding of aquatic weeds and interact with experts in this field. The Aquatic Weed School is designed for those involved in consulting, research, and management of aquatic weed systems throughout the western United States.

TOPICS include ecological classification and impacts of aquatic weeds * biology of aquatic weeds * physical and chemical characteristics of aquatic ecosystems * regulatory issues—update on National Pollutant Discharge Elimination System (NPDES) * are herbicides safe * label compliance and CA herbicide registration ¡ adjuvants and surfactants for aquatic systems ¡ aquatic weed ID ¡ personal protective equipment ¡ developing an IPM plan ¡ pest prevention for aquatic weeds ¡ physical and mechanical control methods ¡ biological control ¡ chemical and non-chemical control ¡ integrated and adaptive aquatic plant management program

The topics are presented in a lecture, laboratory and demonstration formats. Each attendee will receive a course notebook with lecture summaries and related materials.

The course will held at the Bowley Plant Science Teaching Center on the UC Davis campus.

REFUND
Refunds will be granted (less a $75 processing fee) if a written request is received by 8/22/2018. No refunds will be granted after 8/22/2018. Refunds or credit are not given for no-shows. We do not offer credit for future events. If you are unable to attend, you may send a substitute in your place at no additional charge.

We also reserve the right to replace a speaker or topic, or adjust the agenda. We will make every effort to notify participants of any changes or cancellations.
